What is Open ASD?
Open ASD is a resource hub and toolkit built by an autistic person who got tired of websites about us and wanted one for us.
Most autism resources are created by researchers, clinicians, or well-meaning allies. While some of that work is valuable, there's something missing when autistic people aren't leading the conversation about our own experiences.
This is our space. Tools that actually help. Resources that understand. A place where being autistic isn't a problem to solve.
Our Principles
Privacy First
All our tools store data locally on your device. Nothing is sent to any server. We believe privacy is especially important for tools that help you understand yourself.
Open Source
This project is open source. See the code, suggest changes, build with us. Free forever, because tools that help people shouldn't be locked behind paywalls.
Neurodiversity Affirming
We operate from a neurodiversity paradigm. Autism is a difference, not a disorder. We don't need fixing—we need understanding, accommodation, and tools that work for our brains.
Accessible by Design
Given our audience, accessibility isn't an afterthought. Dark mode, high contrast, reduced motion, dyslexia-friendly fonts. Your way.
Get Involved
This is a community project. If you'd like to contribute—whether that's code, content, resources, or just ideas—we'd love to hear from you.
